Acupuncture

When you book an acupuncture appointment, you are really booking an East Asian medicine treatment. My primary modality is acupuncture, but I also practice and offer other East Asian modalities in these acupuncture sessions. This might include cupping, moxibustion, non-insertive Japanese style acupuncture, or Chinese herbal medicine - either in combination with acupuncture or in place of it.

All acupuncture appointments will include an intake and diagnostic assessment based off of the radial pulse, tongue, and channel palpation.

Massage Therapy

I also offer bodywork in combination with acupuncture. During these sessions, we will do a full intake and diagnostic assessment, as well as a treatment which will include both massage and acupuncture, potentially including other Eastern modalities such as cupping or guasha as well.

My training is diverse and the techniques I use include craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, deep tissue, Swedish massage, sotai, and shiatsu. I have completed a traditional 600 hour training in massage therapy as well as several continuing education courses in bodywork over the last decade.

Herbal Medicine

I am a classically trained Chinese herbalist, strongly oriented to the Shanghan Lun. On request, I am happy to prescribe custom herbal formulas during our course of treatment. Herbs will either be in granular form, to be mixed into water and drank as a tea, or in capsule form.
